New After-School Program at Longfellow Elementary (RIMSD) is Lifting Learners Up
Spring Forward is thrilled to return After-School programming to Longfellow Elementary in Rock Island, after a hiatus extending back to COVID days. The exciting, newly reimagined program is offered in partnership with Rock Island-Milan School District 41 and Augustana College.
Thanks to these partnerships, students attending the program will gain access to high impact, small group and 1-on-1 Reading Intervention, led by both Certified Teachers from the District, as well as future teachers (getting class credit) enrolled in Augustana College’s Education Program. Experiential learning and fun is also in the schedule with engaging Outreach programming from Nahant Marsh and Common Chord lined up through the end of 3rd quarter.
Spring Forward currently serves the Rock Island-Milan School District with After-School Programs at Longfellow, Rock Island Academy, Frances Willard, Ridgewood, and Rock Island Center for Math and Science. Additionally, we provide educators at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. Over 210 elementary students are currently enrolled in Spring Forward after-school programs.
