All in the FamiLEE

For the last 10 years, Spring Forward Summer Campers have been welcomed by Rosaland “Roz” Lee, a Spring Forward Site Leader in Rock Island. Lee, a familiar face in the Rock Island-Milan School District as the Ridgewood Elementary Building Supervisor, finds a lot of joy in the Spring Forward program environment. This summer she has been at Thomas Jefferson Elementary keeping all of the “moving parts moving” with ease and efficiency.

This year, Roz has made Spring Forward Summer Camp a family affair, where her daughter, Miranda Lee, and granddaughter, Mackenzie (an Augustana College student), are Site Assistants at Thomas Jefferson. The icing on the cake is that Roz gets to also spend time with her other grandchildren, Aliviannah and Stevie, who are enrolled in the program.

As a site assistant, Roz's daughter brings fresh ideas and a dynamic energy to the camp, while her granddaughter, also a site assistant, adds an extra layer of warmth and enthusiasm. This three-generation team creates a familial atmosphere that not only strengthens their bond but also enhances the camp experience for all participants. Roz treasures this opportunity to collaborate closely with her family, making each day at Spring Forward Summer Camp even more special.

“Spring Forward is an amazing organization that is family oriented,” said Roz. “When I chose to work here, I felt it was only fitting for my family to work and participate as well. I would like to hope that my daughter and grandchildren continue the tradition!”
