Staff Spotlight: Vickie Duling
Vickie Duling, program staff for Spring Forward brings a big smile, love for learning and an adventurous soul to our program. Educators are the lifeblood of our program. Let’s get to know Vickie better:
From Vickie:
I am starting my 4th year with Spring Forward and its after school program. Last summer was my first time doing the summer program. My primary responsibility is to help the students with homework and to engage in other activities such as art and reading. I work at the Rock Island Academy as a 1st grade paraprofessional, and I also substitute teach in this school. I chose to work for SF because I enjoy working with the students and watching them learn as well as seeing them excited when they get to enjoy new experiences. Have you ever gotten to build an obstacle course for a turtle? We did, and I had as much fun as the kids. The kids love when outside organizations come in and share their enthusiasm for their profession. SF is an after school and summer program that helps students with homework, provides snacks along with recreational activities and social development. My role is to make sure they have a safe and loving environment to learn and play! I have lived in the QC my whole life and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. The people living here are wonderful and working here has given me friendships that I will cherish forever.
