2024 Fall Intersession Camps

Monday, October 7 - Friday October 11
9am-12pm

  • Open to all RIMSD students grades K - 6th

  • Breakfast and lunch provided daily

  • Breakfast and check-in begin at 9am

  • Programs led by community partners

Scouts

Program Location: Rock Island Center for Math and Science

Grades Served: K-6

Boy Scouts of America and Girls Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois are joining together to build character and teach life skills and teamwork. Campers will achieve a new sense of confidence and deeper understanding of responsibility. Activities will include: Art, Archery (foam), Pinewood Derby Car racing.

Creative Arts

Program Location: Thomas Jefferson

Grades Served: 2-6

Program Partners: Royal Drama Dance Team, Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre, Zay Creatives and Figge Art Museum 

Creative Arts serve as a platform for self-expression, enabling children to nurture their creativity and immerse themselves in a realm where they can cultivate skills, foster imagination, and draw inspiration. Campers will be introduced to dance, shadow puppeteering, and canvas painting. Program partners include Royal Drama Dance Team, Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre, Zay Creatives, and Figge Art Museum.

Fall Sports Camp

Program Location: Rock Island Center for Math and Science

Grades Served: K-6

Rock Island Parks and Recreation will host 3 days of Basketball and 2 days of Flag Football introducing basic skills and teamwork for students wanting to explore sports, make friends, and build a strong foundation in flag football and basketball.

Swimming

Program Location: Thomas Jefferson (Transported to RIFAC by SF Staff)

Grades Served: K-4

Program Partners: RI Parks and Recreation

Beginner Swim Lessons: Do your part and make your student “Water Smart!“ Led by certified staff from the Rock Island Park District. Students will attend beginner swim lessons daily at the RIFAC. Students will need to wear proper swimming attire and have dry clothes to change into after lessons. Students will be transported from Thomas Jefferson to RIFAC by Spring Forward staff.
